Fulbright Scholar Program
The Fulbright Scholar Program (FSP) offers U.S. faculty, administrators, and professionals grants to lecture, conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields, or to participate in seminars. Applicants apply directly to the Fulbright Scholars Program; there is no campus component of any of the competitions. Questions about the various programs and application processes can be directed to Mark Lilleleht, the UW-Madison’s Fulbright Coordinator. The application deadline for most academic year awards is on or around September 15 each year.
Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad
The Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad (FRA) program funds faculty to pursue full-time research abroad for a term of 3-12 months. See the Department of Education’s FRA website for additional details. This is an institutional award funded by the US Department of Education; as such, faculty must apply through the UW-Madison. The FRA restarted in 2022 after a 10-year hiatus. We encourage interested UW-Madison faculty to email the UW-Madison Fulbright Coordinator so that we can keep you up-to-date on the coming competitions.
Global Science Scholars Fellowship
The Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network (CZ Biohub Network) and the Stellar Science Foundation (SS-F) invite applications for the Global Science Scholars program, an up to two-year international postdoctoral fellowship program between the U.S. and Japan designed to advance excellence in bioengineering and biomedical research by supporting early-career researchers to advance their careers and conduct groundbreaking science in U.S. and Japanese research labs. Rapid Response: Reinvesting in Racial and Indigenous Health Equity Research
E4A is launching a second round of Rapid Research funding for those teams that have had their federal funding to conduct their racial and/or Indigenous health equity research rescinded or otherwise terminated.
