Global Girlhood: Wisconsin to the World – Sept. 26, 2020
Co-sponsored by the Institute for Regional and International Studies at UW-Madison and the Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies and Institute of World Affairs at UW-Milwaukee.
Join us for an exploration and celebration of Global Girlhood. Despite the progress on gender equality that has been made around the world, girls still face significant barriers to equal rights and opportunities. Many of these inequalities have been exacerbated by the current global pandemic. This workshop will highlight the current status of girls in Wisconsin and around the world, and provide strategies and resources for incorporating global girlhood topics into the K-12 classroom. We’ll also hear from two inspiring young women leaders from Honduras and Somalia through Green Card Voices.
