FLAS information sessions for Summer 2023 & Academic Year 2023-2024 awards

This year we will be hosting 6 8 information sessions about the Foreign Language & Area Studies (FLAS) awards for the study of less commonly taught languages at the UW-Madison for summer 2023 and academic year 2023-2024!

Open to US citizens & permanent residents, FLAS awards support students – both undergraduate & graduate students – in acquiring foreign language & area studies competencies. We will discuss eligibility requirements, languages supported, the application & award process, and more. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, February 14, 2023.

There will be three five in-person and three online sessions over the course of the coming months. They are scheduled for:

  • In-person in 336 Ingraham Hall
    • Thursday, November 10 @ 4pm
    • Tuesday, December 6 @ 4pm
    • Thursday, January 26 @ 4pm
  • In-person in College Library, 1191B conference room – Thursday, November 17 @ 4pm
  • In-person in 1051 Van Hise Hall – Thursday, February 9 @ 4pm
