The University of Wisconsin-Madison is partnering with the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting to support one student journalist in covering an international story. The fellowship amount is $5,000. The student can use this money to pay for the cost of travel and for incidentals in the field. Throughout the summer that the student spends covering the story, the Pulitzer Center staff will offer professional mentorship.
Undergraduates at the rank of “junior” or higher, as well as graduate students are eligible to apply. You do not have to be a journalism major. Deadline to apply is March 31, 2020. Updated deadline to apply: Monday, April 13, 2020.
Also note that the Pulitzer Center will be flexible about when the selected student fellow/s does their fieldwork due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Contact Lindsay Palmer (details at the link below) for additional information.
There is an information session scheduled for Monday, January 27 (see below) and additional information is available @ https://journalism.wisc.edu/pulitzer-center-campus-consortium-international-reporting-fellowship-deadline-march-31-2020/
