Fulbright-Hays DDRA 2018 competition is open!!

The 2018 Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) competition is open. The deadline for submission of a complete application, including all supporting documents, is 10:00 am, Thursday, June 28, 2018.

The campus deadline is the final deadline for student applicants. Go to https://iris.wisc.edu/funding/students/ddra/ for information on the application process & campus documents.

The Fulbright-Hays DDRA funds doctoral candidates (US citizens, nationals, or permanent residents) to conduct research in other countries, in modern foreign languages and area studies for periods of six to 12 months. The grant does not fund research whose focus is on Western European countries.

For 2018 there are two areas identified as competitive preference priorities: projects that use any of 78 priority languages selected from a list of Less Commonly Taught Languages; and projects conducted in the fields of economics, engineering, international development, mathematics, political science, public health, science, comparative or international education, or technology.

We will offer a Fulbright-Hays DDRA information session & technical review workshop for UW-Madison students on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, 3:00 – 4:00 pm in 336 Ingraham Hall.

We will also coordinate peer review workshops for those interested. Email Mark Lilleleht at award@iris.wisc.edu if you are interested or have questions not answered on the UW’s DDRA page.
